Press Release #1

Military MBA Partners with Student Veterans of America to Help Working Veterans
Advance Their Post-9/11 Education and Careers

October 24, 2011 – Military MBA is pleased to announce a new initiative with Student Veterans of America (SVA) to deliver a comprehensive education and career resource blog for working veterans. An expanding coalition of student veteran groups across the United States, SVA reaches more than 15,000 veteran and Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) students currently attending more than 420 universities nationwide. As a career and education resource network for service members for almost a decade, Military MBA will provide expert opinion and advice concerning MBA opportunities for veterans using the new blog site.

According to Michael Dakduk, executive director of the association, “Student Veterans of America recognizes the potential impact Military MBA has as an important resource for military students interested in advancing their education and careers.”

Of the thousands of veterans who enroll at universities each year, many face challenges as they transition out of military service. The need for resources in this area is already significant, but cutbacks in government spending are expected to compound the problem. As the military reduces headcount, more veterans – in excess of one million next year alone, according to National Public Radio estimates – will return to civilian life, looking for education and career opportunities to meet their needs. This will add tremendous pressure to what many veterans’ associations believe is already bordering on a national crisis.

“These men and women need support in evaluating their education and career options following the Post-9/11 era of the military,” explains Greg Eisenbarth, executive director. “Military MBA’s partnership with SVA expands our reach to thousands of veterans with the information, advice, and resources needed to apply the right MBA program and take full advantage of their education benefits.”

Military MBA offers student veterans the tools and support necessary to become successful MBA candidates, from planning and preparation to selection of a qualified MBA school, so they can apply an MBA degree after graduation to advance or start a new career.
