Program Curriculum & Highlights

The Executive MBA (EMBA) program at Florida International University is an elite program for seasoned professionals who have already achieved significant business success. The 18-month program is for top executives, directors, and corporate leaders. The uniquely designed curriculum focuses on leadership, global perspective, and innovation. The EMBA program takes a real-world functional approach, weaving development of leadership, innovation and strategic management skills into four key areas of study: Navigating in a global environment; creating economic and social value; processes that deliver economic & social value; developing and implementing strategy.

• The program includes a weeklong residency in China, Brazil, Russia, Turkey, South Africa or Italy through the EMBA Consortium for Global Business Innovation
• The curriculum is embedded with 360-degree leadership assessments with personal mentors and coaches
• Classes are held in the heart of Miami’s Financial and International District at our state-of-the-art Brickell facility that includes a multi-media classroom, case study rooms and dedicated EMBA lounge.
• Cohort-style classes allow students to expand their network and build connections with over 40,000 FIU Business alumni

The Professional MBA (PMBA) is a concentrated, accelerated program designed for successful, busy professionals, allowing individuals to earn their MBA in 16-24 months. Our programs create a unique learning environment through a curriculum focused on functional business courses as well as critical skills in communication, team building and management.

• The program is offered in 3 different formats that allow for convenient scheduling options of evening, weekend and blended-learning classes (Downtown, Weekend & Flex)
• Classes are offered in our state-of-the-art facilities, conveniently located in Brickell or Miramar
• The Professional MBA Flex format allows for a specialization in Finance, Resource Management, International Business, Marketing, or Real Estate

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Executive MBA program, prospective students must:

• Hold a 4-year U.S. equivalent degree from an accredited college or university
• Have a minimum of 8 years of professional experience, 5 of which need to have been in a managerial role (managing people, budgets, projects)
• Submit official transcripts and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on upper division coursework
• Submit an online application
• Submit a current resume - detailing chronological professional experience, and dates of earned degrees.
• Submit a statement of purpose – a document of no more than two pages outlining your objectives for pursuing this graduate degree program
• Submit two recommendation letters from employers, faculty or professional associates
• Complete a formal interview with Executive leadership, to be scheduled by admissions manager

To be eligible for admission to the Professional MBA programs, prospective students must:

• Have a minimum of 4 years of professional experience or 2 years of professional experience along with a GMAT or GRE (varies by program format)
• Submit online application
• Submit official transcripts and hold a minimum GPA of 3.0 on upper division coursework
• Submit an online application
• Submit a current resume - detailing chronological professional experience, and dates of earned degrees
• Submit a statement of purpose – a document of no more than two pages outlining your objectives for pursuing this graduate degree program
• Submit two recommendation letters from employers, faculty or professional associates

Tuition Costs

Tuition for the Executive MBA program is $65,000.00 for Florida residents and $70,000.00 for non-Florida residents and international students. Tuition includes course materials, residencies/trip accommodations, career management services, special events, meals, as well as parking, student and other university fees.

Tuition for the Professional MBA programs is $48,000.00 for Florida residents and $52,000.00 for non-Florida residents and international students. Tuition includes course materials, professional development seminars, career management services, special events, as well as parking, student and other university fees.

Scholarships

As part of our commitment to supporting dynamic and inclusive professional development in South Florida, our programs proudly offer merit scholarships. The awards will be determined on a competitive basis by the committee. The committee will evaluate candidates holistically, considering professional, academic, and individual criteria.

The Executive MBA program scholarships are designed for historically underrepresented groups in South Florida business environments:

Exceptional Female Leaders Scholarship
A maximum of two (2) scholarship(s) in amount of $7,500 may be awarded to exceptional female Executive MBA candidate(s) who is/are selected for program admission. The awards will be determined on a competitive basis by the committee.

Exceptional Black Leaders Scholarship
A maximum of two (2) scholarship(s) in amount of $7,500 may be awarded to exceptional black Executive MBA candidate(s) who is/are selected for program admission. The awards will be determined on a competitive basis by the committee.

Exceptional Technology Leaders Scholarship
As part of our commitment to supporting growth of telecommunications and Information technology in South Florida, FIU Executive MBA program is proud to offer a merit scholarship for leaders working the Telecommunications and Information Technology industries in the South Florida community.

Exceptional Entrepreneur Scholarship
As part of our commitment to supporting the growth of small business in South Florida, FIU Executive MBA program is proud to offer a merit scholarship for an individual who has started their own business. One scholarship in amount of $7,500 may be awarded to an exceptional Executive MBA candidate who is selected for program admission.

Exceptional Non-profit Leaders Scholarship
As part of our commitment to supporting professional development in South Florida, FIU Executive MBA program is proud to offer a merit scholarship for leaders working in non-profit organizations for the betterment of our community.

The Professional MBA programs offers two merit (2) $7,500 scholarships per admissions cycle. To be eligible for these scholarships students must:

• Have been accepted into one of the Professional MBA programs
• Have an upper division GPA of 3.45 or higher
• Submit a supplementary essay addressing the following question:
-- Describe a processes in your current workplace that can be improved upon. What changes would you implement to make the process more efficiently?

Military

Florida International University has dedicated resources for veterans and military personnel leveraging their Post-9/11 GI Bill. All candidates are considered for merit based scholarships. If you are planning to utilize the GI Bill coverage for this program, you must know that this program is only covered fully when it comes to tuition and fees.
