Description of Learning Environment for Students
The Fisher International MBA Program at the Monterey Institute of International Studies prepares professionals to operate successfully in the global business environment of the 21st century. Its diverse student body, comprised of 50% international students and 50% women, as well as its 10:1 student-to-faculty ratio makes the Fisher MBA program particularly unique and highly personalized.
The Fisher International MBA Program has been providing MBA degrees with an international emphasis for over 30 years and is accredited by AACSB International, the premier accrediting agency for schools of business. For the past four years, the Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine have ranked The Fisher International MBA Program as one of the top graduate business programs committed to success in entrepreneurial endeavors.
As a microcosm of the world, the Fisher International MBA Program is the ideal setting for aspiring business executives to acquire the skills necessary to succeed in today's complex, cross-cultural business environments. Fisher MBAs also believe that business is a vital part of the solution to critical social and environmental challenges. Our students recognize the importance, influence, and power of business to create positive change in the world. Whether you plan to start your own enterprise, market innovative products for a Fortune 500 company, run a wind farm to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, manage investments in emerging markets, launch a social venture fund, manage an NGO to help eliminate extreme poverty, or change the world in your own way, the Fisher MBA program will prepare you.
The Monterey Institute of International Studies is located near both the Defense Language Institute(DLI) and the Naval Postgraduate School(NPS). Students enjoy a military-friendly community both on and off campus. In addition to having a dedicated veterans faculty advisor, the campus also has an active student led veterans organization called the VO. The VO is available to ensure that all veterans in the Monterey Institute community are utilizing all resources available to them to assist them in reaching their educational and professional goals. This student group works in a variety of areas to enhance the learning atmosphere at the Monterey Institute and looks to create robust relationships within the MIIS and local community, and other academic and federal organizations.
