Accreditation(s)

The University of Saint Mary is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schooluth LaSalles (230 So Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, IL 60604; 800-621-7440).

The university has received specialized accreditation for its business and business-related programs through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), Olathe, Kansas.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum college grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Applicant should submit:

  • Official transcripts from all undergraduate work and any graduate coursework. The undergraduate transcript must show the date your degree was conferred and the GPA for all degree-related coursework.
  • Two letters of recommendation from a supervisor, employer or previous professor.
  • A signed Academic Honesty Agreement
  • A copy of your résumé
  • A completed application

 

Tuition

Tuition for the online MBA is $465 per credit hour.

Military

About the Online MBA at the University of Saint Mary

Study advanced business skills and learn to become a manager with integrity with the accelerated, one-year online MBA at the University of Saint Mary. The Catholic university's mission and core values of ethics and responsibility are threaded throughout the curriculum and woven into classroom discussions and lectures to teach you how you can work toward organizational success and contribute to the common good.

The University of Saint Mary has offered online courses since 1997, and our faculty members, some of whom also teach on campus, are trained and experienced in the online learning environment. We provide many levels of support for students, including:

  • A 24/7 Personal Support Center for when you have a question about an assignment, tuition, or any other issue related to your online program

  • Help from your fellow students and instructors


On average, students spend about 15 to 20 hours a week studying and completing coursework, which can be arranged around personal and professional obligations. There are six opportunities each year to start the program.

Faculty

Ron Logan, Chair of the Business, Accounting, and Sports Management Departments
Dr. Logan spent 20 years in the corporate sector and also has more than 20 years of experience in higher education administration and teaching. Previously at USM, he served as vice president and dean of the Overland Park Campus. Dr. Logan received his BA in Economics from UMKC, his MBA from Rockhurst University, and his Ed.D. from the University of Kansas.

Elizabeth Garza-Lang, Assistant Professor and Associate Director of Business Programs
Professor Garza-Lang has more than 20 years experience with for-profit and non-profit organizations. She received her BS in Business Administration from Rockhurst University, and her MS in Adult Education from Kansas State University.

Carlton Philpot, Assistant Professor
Professor Philpot has more than 35 years of senior-level leadership experience. A retired naval officer he has extensive experience as a strategic, operational, and tactical planner, public speaking, and human resources and ethical training. He earned his BA in Biology/Pre-Med from Talladega College and his MS in Science of Management from Baker University.

David Reynolds, Associate Professor of Marketing
Professor Reynolds has been part of the University of Saint Mary faculty since 2004. Previously, he spent 28 years as a marketer in the travel and tourism industry. He earned his BA in Psychology/Education from Southwest Missouri State and his MA in Marketing from Webster University.

Don Orrell, Assistant Professor of Accounting
Professor Orrell worked for 10 years as a certified public accountant and spent more than 25 more years working as a programmer, system analyst, database administrator, and other management positions in the information technology field. He earned his BS in Accounting from Kansas State University and his MA in Computer Management from Webster University.
